Inspired by her native India, Aditi Samarth's art employs iconography, batik fabric design and a range of meditative deities to represent time and harmony. We're glad that she's the Visiting Scholar in Humanities at Richland College and co-coordinator of an emerging Asian/Middle Eastern American Studies Program—those who create harmony are well-equipped to inspire others through teaching. Samarth's paintings will be displayed from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays; 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and noon to 4 p.m. Sundays through October 5 in the Lago Vista Gallery at Richland College, 12800 Abrams Road. Admission is free. Call 972-238-6339 or visit rlc.dcccd.edu.
