A Christmas Carol is my favorite Christmas story (right before Die Hard). I watch the George C. Scott version every year. And every time I see it, The Ghost of Christmas Past freaks me out a little less and the revelation of Ignorance and Want beneath the robes of Christmas Present freaks me out a little more. But no matter which version you watch, Ebenezer Scrooge is the heart of the movie. This Saturday at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., at Dallas Theater Center's Kalita Humphreys Theater on 3636 Turtle Creek Blvd. at Blackburn Street, Robert Langdon Lloyd will play Ebenezer Scrooge. From what I hear, he's the scroogiest Scrooge of them all. They say he's not giving any money to charity this year just to "get into the character." I heard someone interviewed him, and he was all, "My performance is going to be way better than Scrooge McDuck. Yeah, I said it. Go tell the Disney version it sucks." This guy is totally Scrooge-tastic. Tickets are $16 to $46. Call 214-522-8499 or visit dallastheatercenter.org.
