Though it resembled a small ghost town just a couple years back, Deep Ellum is finally back to its original, lively roots. With live concerts almost every night, a few tasty restaurants and infamous street festivals, the historic Dallas neighborhood is back with a vengeance. So why not take a tour this weekend? The 9th Semi-Annual DEEP ArtWalk celebrates art from galleries like Barry Whistler Gallery, Kettle Art, and Steve Paul Gallery in Deep Ellum and Exposition Park. Patrons are invited to stroll through galleries, shop around, listen to music and, of course, chow down. For those wishing to visit both areas, the DART Green Line offers easy access between Deep Ellum and the Expo Park area. The walk lasts from 6 to 10 p.m. this Saturday in Deep Ellum and Exposition Park. Admission is free. For more information, visit facebook.com/deepellum.
