The Jewish Community Center is presenting its annual Jewish singles bash on Christmas day, the Original Matzoh Ball. Now there is ample opportunity to start with the jokes, but we here at Night & Day are above such things. Wait--we're not? All right, then, leave your yarmulkes at home because the commonly held Jewish tradition of Chinese food on Christmas jibes perfectly with this event (which does not begin until 8 p.m. and ends at 2 a.m.). That means you can get your fill of dumplings and chow mein before you throw back some Manischewitz, and meet some fellow chosen singles. There should be plenty of time to dance the Hava Nagila in between the DJ's other choices--probably Kanye--and there will be plenty of kosher snacks to fuel you on into the morning. Warning to the fellas: Chances of meeting some naturally blonde schicksas might be pretty low. But a bonus to the ladies: Less competition! The House of Blues in the West End is hosting the event, a dressy casual affair, with a $25 admission for JCC members, $30 for non-members. All mensches and shayna punims over 21 are welcome!
