For most of us city-slickers, our Tony Lama's ain't been scuffed-up since we bought 'em and the closest we'll get to cattle-wrangling is a leisurely walk with the bronze steers of Pioneer Plaza. Let's face it: We aren't cowboys any more than the Marlboro Man was, but that hasn't always been the case. In Texas, tall tales about bronco-busting cowboys abound. But what about all the cowgirls? It's enough to give a cowgirl the blues. That's where the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame, 1720 Gendy St. in Fort Worth, rides in to save the day. Their latest exhibit, No Glitz, No Glory displays artifacts from the women who helped mold the culture of the west. Ranging from dresses of the Order of the Alamo to rhinestone saddles, these artifacts combine the grace of bedazzled pageantry with the grit of the old west. The National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame will exhibit No Glitz, No Glory through September 25. The museum is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.
