Dear Michael Myers: Your bleached William Shatner mask will be of no use this Halloween. We have Pumpkinhead. Also, we have Lance Henriksen. In the genre of horror films based on creepy, supernatural old women in the Appalachian mountains, Pumpkinhead is one of the best. It’s also directed by Stan Winston, the special effects mastermind behind Terminator. Here’s the point: I Heart Cinema is presenting a 35mm screening of this atmospheric classic for their MONSTER MASH PUMPKIN BASH at the Texas Theatre. The party kicks off at 6 p.m. on Halloween (so, yes, you can go ahead and wear your zombie Where’s Waldo costume), and Pumpkinhead will screen at 8 p.m.. There’ll be cocktails, including Bloody Marys and “The Pumpkinhead” cocktail, which contains real head chunks. Texas Theatre is at 231 West Jefferson Blvd. Movie tickets are $9 ($7 for members), but the lobby party is free.
