Last year’s inaugural North Texas Beer Festival showed signs of an event with the right idea and a good heart, but still wasn’t quite sure how to hit one out of the park. The fest offered long lines for brew samples in a section of the Plano Centre that seemed to get smaller by the sip. Another important note: beer culture in Dallas was merely beginning to blossom. Since last May, other like-minded festivals and a number of breweries have begun floating kegs. This year, the festival may have a bit more belching room, thanks to the move to the Irving Convention Center. With 50 brewers presenting 200 styles of beer, patrons are going to need all the room they can get. Get a sample-buzz on May 12th from 3:00pm to 9:00pm at 500 W. Las Colinas Blvd, Irving, TX 75039. Tickets range from $20.00 to $40.00, and can be purchased at northtexasbeerfestival.com.
