Of all the shows I can barely remember seeing, the Psychic Paramount at Emo's roughly five years ago somehow stands out. It wasn't some barn-burner of a show, just a random night where the band was so unbelievably on, it made you clutch your beer a little tighter and wonder if you'd ever witness this sort of transcendence again. The instrumental NYC trio formed out of the ashes of the severely underrated Laddio Bolocko, and they tread that same reverb-and-jam-heavy coastline. Last year's II doesn't trifle with the loud-quiet-loud formula, though; it's a hair dryer on full blast. Eyes, Wings & Many Other Things and the Black Dotz open.
