Remember the sad pop-up books of your youth? Their pull tabs failed immediately and their 3-D trees only popped once? Those dreary pages have been replaced with amazingly intricate ones, thanks to the work of author, illustrator and paper magician Robert Sabuda. He’s added new life to the pages of classic stories like The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, Alice in Wonderland and Arthur and the Sword, and this week, Sabuda comes to town to share some of his origami-like tricks with you and eager young paper engineers. It’s part of the Dallas Museum of Art’s BooksmART program happening at 8:30 p.m. Friday in the Horchow Auditorium at the DMA, 1717 North Harwood St. Tickets to the event are free, and Sabuda will also pop in to the museum store for a pre-event signing.
