CentralTrak’s spring series of discussions has been getting blood flowing and brains oxygenating in terms of what we need to make Dallas a better place for the arts. A couple weeks ago, the need for art criticism was dissected. Last week, a creative brain trust engaged in “Not Waiting for Permission,” a yearly discussion on how to grow Dallas as an art city. May kicks off with “Creating an Art Community/Scene” at CentralTrak (800 Exposition Ave.), with panelists Peter Doroshenko of the Dallas Contemporary, Kevin Ruben Jacobs of Oliver Francis Gallery, artist Richard Patterson, Lucy Kirkman of the Socialized Contemporary Artists Bureau Collective and Leigh Arnold of the Dallas Museum of Art. If you care about arts in the D, get thee to Expo Park. The discussion is at 7 p.m. Thursday and is free. Call 214-824-9302 or visit centraltrak.com for more details.
