Hello to You, Fair Spanish Ladies

Imagine you’re in a small Andalusian mountain town in Spain at the turn of the 20th century. You hold hands with your lover as the Spanish guitars fill the air and the flamenco dancers sweep across the stage in front of you. Open your eyes. You’re in the City Performance Hall on Valentine’s Day partaking in Rise of Flamenco. You must have a romantic somebody in your life. For two nights only, The Orchestra of New Spain partners with the Dallas Flamenco Festival to bring the seductive magic of Spanish dance to the stage. The show draws inspiration from the bigwigs of Spanish art and music: poet Federico Garcia Lorca, composer Manuel de Falla and Impressionist painter Joaquín Sorolla. Rise of Flamenco takes the stage at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the City Performance Hall, 2520 Flora St. Ticket prices range from $25 to $60 and $10 for students. Visit orchestraofnewspain.org.
