The tiny town of Night Vale has been getting a great deal of exposure. It’s not the homemade pie in the local diner or the quaint bed and breakfast run by a lovely elderly couple that attracts such loyal followers. It’s the strange lights in the sky, the high school quarterback who suddenly grew a second head and the unexplained “shape” that resides in Grove Park. The town’s radio updates have garnered a cult following in the form of an online podcast as out-of-towners listen in each week to hear host Cecil Baldwin deliver the latest goings-on in the mysterious township. For once, you won’t have to go to them to get your fill of anthology-style creepiness. They are coming to you in the middle of the night. The show has been touring the country doing live tapings of its podcast, and it’s scheduled to make a stop at the Lakewood Theater, 1825 Abrams Parkway, at 7:30 p.m. Friday. Tickets were $25, but last we heard it’s sold out.
Fri., March 14, 7:30 p.m., 2014
