Draw the Melons, Don’t Just Look at Them

Are you, like a certain former U.S. president, a budding artist looking to expand your horizons? Tired of sketching the usual still lifes of bowls of fruit? The Dallas chapter of Dr. Sketchy’s Anti-Art School has just the thing to expand your endeavors into life drawing. Better yet, if you’re not quite ready to step away from bowls of fruit, Dr. Sketchy will give you the chance to try your hand at drawing a couple of ripe melons as it brings in burlesque artist Melissa Meaow to the latest installment of its monthly anti-art class. Bring $10 and your choice of dry media to try your hand at capturing Miss Meaow’s essence from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Three Links, 2704 Elm St. in Deep Ellum. Or save the 10 bucks and just show up at the bar to drink and enjoy the sight of any inspiring muses in the vicinity. (There will also be a drawing and games.) Tickets for the sketchy portion of the program are available at the door. For more information, visit drsketchysdallas.com.
