Did you know that Barbra Streisand has a shopping mall in the basement of her house? (Stars, they’re just like us!). That real mall is the setting of Jonathan Tolins’ otherwise fictional one-man comedy, Buyer & Cellar, which arrives at the Dallas City Performance Hall (2520 Flora St.) Wednesday after a critically acclaimed run off-Broadway. Plano native Michael Urie — whom you may recognize from the TV show Ugly Betty — stars as Alex More, a young, out-of-work actor who is hired to oversee operations at Babs’ subterranean shops. Through confessional tales of his interactions with the superstar, More paints a portrait of Barbra and the phenomenon of celebrity that is sure to garner lots of laughs. Check this play out if you’re looking for lighthearted fun that’s still got some depth. Buyer & Cellar runs through Saturday, and Wednesday's performance begins at 8 p.m.. Tickets range from $35 to $65. More info at attpac.org.
