Cold weather is for drawing near a fire and listening to stories. Dallas may not quite be there on the weather front, but there’s an even better alternative. Gather around the stage at Bass Performance Hall (525 Commerce St. Fort Worth) Thursday evening, when award-winning host and creator of A Prairie Home Companion, Garrison Keillor, will tell tales of Lake Wobegone, Minnesota, his fictional birthplace. Keillor’s radio variety show has been in production for forty years, and tours frequently, but this will be a rare solo performance. Topics will range from Keillor’s childhood, to his experience becoming a father for the second time in his mid-50s. Expect insightful humor and fun for the whole family! No, really. Take your parents, they miss you. 7:30pm. Thursday. Tickets range from $33-$88 and are available at basshall.com.
