Ina Garten, otherwise known as the Barefoot Contessa, is the queen of getting the culinary dirty work in any recipe done ahead of time. To hear her tell it, you're actually supposed to enjoy cooking and entertaining! Whether it's chicken matzoh-ball soup or sophisticated party plates you're after, Her Food Network show Barefoot Contessa: Back to Basics will teach you how to make Hamptons-worthy food on a normal person's time clock. Even her latest bound effort, Make it Ahead, is an ode to prepping the stress away. She’s stopping by McFarlin Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday to dish on filming the show and writing cookbooks as part of the Dallas Museum of Art’s Arts & Letters Live series. In keeping with her “cook, then chill” message, there will be no meet and greet after the show, but VIP tickets do give you access to a reception (wine and bites included) with Contessa Garten beforehand, as well as a signed copy of Make It Ahead and great seats. Those opting for regular tickets can purchase from a limited supply of pre-signed books, and ask her questions during the Q&A following her presentation. Tickets start at $39.50, but are currently sold out. Visit the DMA's website for newly released tickets.
