Texas Beer Fest Announces Lineup, Moth to Release '07 Dogfish Head Brews, American Craft Beer Week And More

May is shaping up to be an eventful month, beerwise. First off, don't forget about the Belgian Tea Party at The Common Table Saturday, May 14, or about the two previously mentioned festivals, the Spring Beer Festival noon to 10 p.m. Saturday at Flying Saucer on the Lake and the North Texas Beer Festival May 13-15.

But Flying Saucer's isn't the only beer festival Saturday, if you're up for a four-hour drive down to the Humble Civic Center Arena. On the other side of the jump, check out the special releases -- including Saint Arnold Divine Reserve 11, Independence Brewluminati, Rahr Barrel Aged Winter Warmer and more from brewers from Texas and other countries available at Texas Beer Fest.

Also following are details on the Meddlesome Moth's Off-Centered Ales '07 Dogfish Head event next week and the Ginger Man's celebration of American Craft Beer Week May 16-22.

If you thought the Meddlesome Moth surely must have exhausted its stash of cellared brews last month during Ale Week, think again. Beginning at 5 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, Donn Bichsel from the brewery will A your Q's while you drink from the bar's trove of five Dogfish beers that have been aging since 2007: Burton Baton, Fort, Immort Ale, Red and White and the discontinued Raison d'Extra. They're available for sale individually or together in a flight.

All three local Ginger Man locations are celebrating American Craft Beer Week every day with the focus on a different brewery from May 16 to 22. In Dallas, the schedule is as follows:

Mon 5/16 @ 7pm - St. Arnold's, Meet the Owner/Founder, Q&A, Special Giveaways

Tues 5/17 @ 6pm - Breckenridge Lucky U, Meet a representative, Pint Night, Special Giveaways

Wed 5/18 @ 6pm - Oskar Blues, Meet a representative, Special Giveaways

Thurs 5/19 - Avery, Tapping the Collaboration and the Mephistopheles

Fri 5/20 @ 7pm - Stone Sublimely Self Righteous, Meet a representative, Pint Night, Special Giveaways

Sat 5/21 - Boulevard, Special craft beer week glasses
Sun 5/22 from 5-7pm - Brooklyn Brewmaster's Reserve, Meet a representative, Special Giveaways

Check the Fort Worth and Plano location sites for their events. And any other bar offering American Craft Beer Week events, please email details.

The Texas Beer Festival is 1 to 10 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $34 in advance, $40 at the event, and include 12 tickets good for 2-ounce samples or which can be used for food, and additional tickets can be purchased during the fest. From Texas alone, 18 breweries will be represented (19 if you count Ziegen Bock), and more than 60 other breweries from all over the world will have product available.
