The same group that owns Sfuzzi and The Standard Pour, La Reve Consultants, is opening a new concept called Pozo Mercado at 2908 McKinney Ave. This new restaurant and bar, which is right next door to The Standard Pour, will have a tequila focus. For that, we applaud them.

Brian McCullough, who runs the bar program at The Standard Pour, has pulled together the spirits for this spot too. We talked a bit about how one sorts through the hundreds of tequilas on the market. Surely he hasn't tried them all. "I've tried quite a few," McCullough said with a bit of a laugh.

"We'll have more than 100 tequilas, not too many cocktails, like only six to eight, a few frozen drinks, tequilas on tap and one infusion," McCullough said.

Pozo, which means "watering hole," will have a full menu in addition to their drinks. McCullough said both the food menu and bar have Texas and Mexican influences.

Per their Facebook page, Pozo is now hiring.

We promise to update.
