The not-so-new-anymore uptown sports bar, The Nodding Donkey is celebrating its one-year anniversary tomorrow with a free buffet from 4 to 7 p.m., drink specials and an appearance from their real-life mascot donkey, Willy.

Penelope Carlton, in-house baker for The Nodding Donkey (and sister restaurant State and Allen), will even be making a donkey-inspired cake for this anniversary celebration. So, Baker Carlton, what's the key ingredient to a proper donkey cake?

"That's an excellent question," says Carlton. "I'm terrified of the answer. I'll let you know when I work it out."

Stop by to have your slice of donkey cake tomorrow around 8. There will also be a raffle for some prizes, including a trip to Las Vegas. Sadly, they're not raffling off Willy, nor can you take him to Vegas with you should you win.
