This week's Dallas food blog round-up is testament to the belief that Dallasites only have two passions: tacos and In-N-Out Burger. Everything else is just a garnish.

Dallas Morning News: Leslie Brenner gave Kuby's Sausage House a tepid two out of five star rating, even though the food was tasty and nothing seemed mind-bogglingly offensive.

Eats Blog: Leslie Brenner reports that Top Chef fan favorite Tiffany Derry will cook a five-course meal at Go Fish Ocean Club, and 20 guests willing to shell out $100 each will get to experience it. At least you can see Derry on television for free.

Christopher Wynn notices that the Neiman Marcus Christmas Book is offering items for hungry heirs, munchy millionaires and other rich people who eat. When the Joneses receive their 898-pound, $15,000 gingerbread house, the rest of us peasants will have to avert our eyes.

Sidedish: Nancy Nichols writes a review of Rex's Seafood Market that makes all the other seafood restaurants slink home in shame.

Sarah Reiss checks out the Texas State Veggie Fair, an event for people who like double broccoli, and a side of hummus - hold the animal suffering.

Pegasus News: Joanna Cattanach says that the governor of New York doesn't want to buy the world a Coke. At least not the poor, presumably diabetes-ridden world. Everyone else can meet him at the vending machines.

J.J. Smith of the Rockwall News says that an In-N-Out Burger is coming to Rockwall. These places (or, er, plans for these places) are popping up everywhere, and people seem to get excited every time. Heads up, Rockwall.

Your own City of Ate: Steven Doyle writes a feature about Scott Romano, the heartwarming hotshot executive chef of Charlie Palmer at The Joule.

If you thought that itchy feeling in your abdomen meant you were falling in love, think again. Hanna Raskin thinks it may be bad barbecue.

José Ralat Maldonado celebrated National Taco Day accordingly, but the day seemed to wind up like a disappointing birthday. He asked for a good taco and got a mercury-colored wad shoved inside a dish towel instead. Maybe next year, kid.

And of course, a new In-N-Out will open at Caruth and Central. Everyone is feigning calm and flooding their Twitters and Facebook pages, which seems to be In-N-Out protocol.
