Enticed With Shaved Ice and Other Food Trucks Rolling Around Dallas Today

Be on the look out for Enticed, a gourmet shaved ice truck (not to be confused with smushed, grinded or jack hammered ice). Yesterday I talked to Lauren Noblett, the truck's shaved ice expert, and she divulged the secret to their delicious snow cones, which I promised not to share. (They rotate a large cylindrical piece of ice on skewers and delicately shave it off.)

According to my chemistry background (or a random website), shaved cylindrical ice absorbs more syrup than the standard block ice, meaning your piña colada juice doesn't collect at the bottom of the cup.

Finally, someone figured that out.

Enticed has a beaucoup of flavors, 35 in all and even nine sugar free, which they promise don't taste like punishment. They also make their own syrups and don't use high fructose corn syrup.

Today you can track down Enticed in the Arts District from 12:00 to 3:30 p.m., then at Sigel's on Fitzhugh from 5 to 9 p.m.

Nammi and The Green House are also both in the Arts District for lunch.

Ssahm BBQ will be throwing down some kimchee at the Walgreens on Beltline at 11 a.m., then back at the same spot for dinner at 5 p.m.

Gandolfo's is at Crouch's Sales on Irving Blvd. (nuts, bolts and things) for lunch and at the Vista's at Hackberry Creek for dinner.
