Grub Burger has been showing low rumblings of being alive for the past few months, and now like a Coke-ad polar bear it's finally rousing to take advantage of the holiday shopping season.
The last thing any of us want to do right now is to look past the mountain of food prep and cooking and eating coming on Thursday and think about any meals that come after that. But just as the biggest shopping day of the year arrives, Grub Burger will open its doors on Greenville Avenue near University Boulevard.
Grub specializes in burgers with weird or tweaked ingredients. They grind their own beef and cook the buns on site. Burger prices range from $6 to $7.50. Sides like Shiner-battered onion rings, local beers on tap and alcoholic milk shakes round out the menu (oh yeah, and salad).

If you're out shopping this Black Friday and are brave enough to face enough more potential lines and crowds, why not see what Dr Pepper barbecue sauce or absinthe-sautéed mushrooms taste like? Hell, given the weather some ghost chile sauce might bring sensation back into your limbs.
