This weekend's concert calender is pretty heavy on local acts--thanks, especially, to the inaugural Homegrown Music and Arts Festival on Saturday at the Main Street Gardens Park in Downtown Dallas.

Homegrown's stacked bill is almost certainly the highlight of the weekend, thanks to scheduled performances from Jonathan Tyler & The Northern Lights, This Will Destroy You, Ishi, Analog Rebellion and others. But there are plenty of other worthwhile shows to check out.

Here's a handful we've already mentioned this week...

On Friday, get your groove on with the country soul of the Stone River Boys at All Good Cafe. Meanwhile, up north a tad, Telegraph Canyon, Doug Burr, and Glen Farris are at Dan's Silverleaf, and Annuals brings their indie-prog-rock to Hailey's, along with Most Serene Republic.

More of this weekend's notable shows after the jump...

The Early Republic, Titanmoon, Phantom Caste
Friday, May 21 at Lola's

Not bad for fourth generation new wave.

Sundress, Sam Robertson, Ryan Thomas Becker
Friday, May 21 at Rubber Gloves Rehearsal Studios
Check out our review of Sundress' new record. The chilled-out Denton-based quintet is gaining a good bit of popularity around here, and their live performances are quite stunning.

Vanilla Ice, Rhymin' and Stealin'
Friday, May 21 at Trees
OK. Not sure how long Vanilla Ice is going to keep this thing going, but even if you're bored with the "Ice Ice Baby" rap/rock facelift, Beastie Boy's cover band, Rhymin' and Stealin' put on quite a show.

Dave Little, Trinity River Folk
Saturday, May 22 at Bryan Street Tavern
Dave Little is hilarious. It is impossible to see him and not have "laugh face" for the rest of the day. And get there early before the Trinity River Folk drink all the beer.

Wynonna
Saturday, May 22 at Billy Bob's Texas
Don't let her manly voice fool you, Wynonna is a handsome woman.

The Glitch Mob
Sunday, May 23 at Trees
Sounds like it will be a speaker-rumbling dance party at Trees...

Rockestra
Sunday, May 23 at Good Records
Any show at Good Records is one worth seeing. After all, the astroturf is, by far, the best stage on Lowest Greenville.

...and this should do it. Enjoy your weekend!
