Not a bad Monday night platter of concerts this evening as the Old 97's continue on with their four-night stay at Sons of Hermann Hall (tickets are still available here for both tonight and tomorrow nights' shows), Neon Indian headlines an impressive bill at The Granada Theater and mid-'90s success story Better Than Ezra plays the House of Blues.

Now, we all know how great Rhett Miller and the rest of Old 97's can be live, but don't discount the pop friendly charm of Better Than Ezra: There's a reason why these guys went platinum with 1995's Deluxe. Plus, "Good" is still a really (dare I say it?) good song.

Still, those looking for another option this evening might do well to check out recent Dallas transplant and Dashboard Confessional guitarist John Lefler do his solo thing tonight at Opening Bell Coffee. Opening for Lefler is Paul Averitt of area Beatles cover band Hard Night's Day and, once upon a time, Salim Nourallah's The Happiness Factor.

So there's a little something for everybody on what's usually a pretty slow time, concert-wise, in the area...
