This weekend marks the third annual (and biggest yet) Dia De Los Toadies Festival.
Each year the location of the festival changes, so The Toadies and nine other Texas bands will take over Whitewater On The Horseshoe in New Braunfels tonight, and all day tomorrow.
This year's most exciting new addition? Tubin'! If you get bored with the festival (not likely) grab a tube and a sixer and float the Guadalupe River.
Not up for a road trip? Well, AllGood Cafe has a festival of their own this weekend. Saturday's all day concert celebrates All Good's 10th anniversary with Boys Named Sue, New Bohemians, The O's, Stone River Boys, King Bucks, and many more.
Here's a few other shows we've mentioned this week that will be happening right here in town.
On Friday, Monahans play City Tavern, Pale Horse, Little Black Dress and Charlie Shafter & The Gnomes play the Double Wide, and Spooky Folk, The Angelus, and Kingdom of Suicide Lovers will be at Rubber Gloves Rehearsal Studios. Oh, and Frankie Muniz will be at The Loft with his band You Hang Up.
On Saturday, Burning Hotels, Ishi and Shapes Stars Make will be in Fort Worth at Lola's, The Dashing Suns will bring their Big Star-influenced pop to The Nightmare and Chris Knight and Somebody's Darling play the Granada.
On Sunday, Dead Confederate will be at The Loft along with Ume and Futurebirds.

Almost a decade ago, members of The Cush, Gabrielle and Burette Douglas were in a Dallas band called Buck Jones. They formed The Cush and hightailed it to Vermont, but now they're back with a new record in tow. Their latest record, Between The Leaves, is heavy, yet ethereal--which should make for a great show. Chris Johnson alone is worth the price of the ticket.

Milton Hopkins (not related) played in B.B. King's backing band for over a decade. If that doesn't make him a blues legend, I don't know what does. Consider it a warm-up for Sunday's gig from King himself.

A rare Dallas performance from Denton's Florene. They've teamed up with Austin's Missions, Cygnus, and DJ Mikey Rodge to throw a "Dance Your Face Off Party" at the Cavern. Expect a packed house of hipsters for this one.

These youngsters just released a retrospective DVD, RetroSpector 45, that goes back to when they were teenagers. And, on Saturday night, the boys will celebrate the release of their new EP, Break Me. The first 50 people to walk in the door will also receive a free copy of the aforementioned DVD.
Spune 2k10 Ice Cream Social w/ Telegraph Canyon & more

The folks over at Spune Productions seem to be doing their best work these days. This ice cream social will feature Spooky Folk, Monahans, Final Club, Old Snack, Baruch The Scribe, Goldilocks + The Rock and Land Mammals, plus all the ice cream you can eat.
