Let's jump right in, shall we? First, the show's we've already hyped...
Tonight, there's the PVC Street Gang, Cocky Americans and Hormones Unlimited show at The Cavern and, also, the Eli Young Band's return to DFW at the House of Blues.
Saturday's particularly busy with Salim Nourallah's CD release show at Sons of Hermann Hall, Black Tie Dynasty's final bow at the Granada, Mudvayne at the Palladium, Chris Cornell at the House of Blues and the Jack With One Eye-led four-band bill at The Cavern.
As for Sunday? Well, we'll get to some Sunday shows below, as we discuss the best of the rest. Be sure to check our listings, too; there's a bunch of cool shows happening this weekend, but I wanted to spread the love to some acts we haven't covered recently.

I reviewed GRO's major label debut recently--the same disc, the band is celebrating tonight at this belated CD release show. Not really my thing, but as I said in the review, I bet a bunch of people who miss the '90s would enjoy it. They'd surely enjoy this show as well. You can also catch GRO tomorrow night at the HOB's POntiac Garage in Dallas, where the band will be joined by fellow Fort Worthian, Josh Weathers.
Quiet Company, Companion

Speaking of CD release parties, this show offers two in one. Austin's Quiet Company--who do great Pixies covers, but probably won't do any tonight--and Companion, the group formerly known as Hey Hollywood, are both offering up their new discs to the masses at this show.

Assuming the weather's nice and none of the other big shows on Saturday tickle your fancy, then, well, this is the place for you to be, as the recently Pitchfork-approved Theater Fire takes to the outdoor stage at Lee Harvey's.
Nate Fowler Benefit Shows
Saturday, March 28, and Sunday, March 29, at the Amsterdam Bar
Nate Fowler's a long-time guitar player from the region who, last year, injured his arm in a car crash. These show, which will feature performances from Fowler's band Elixir (both nights), THe BAcksliders (Saturday), Paul Slavens (Saturday), Salim Nourallah (Sunday), Rahim Quazi (Sunday), The Happy Bullets (Sunday) and Wanz Dover (Sunday), aims to help raise funds to get Fowler back on his feet.
The Academy Is...
Sunday, March 28, at the House of Blues' Pontiac Garage
Probably the most rock-based band on Fueled By Ramen (as opposed to pop-punk-based), The Academy Is... is almost not a band exclusively liked by teens. Almost. This show will be teeming with young, suburban, boy-crazy teenage girls. If you can put up with that, who knows, maybe the band will impress ya. At the very least, it's more palatable than most of the bands Pete Wentz signs.
