All fans of anything have lists in their heads of famous hands they'd like to shake -- those attached the faces and voices they've seen in their favorite movies and TV shows. There's just something about making that face-to-face to contact with the people you've worshiped from afar that makes them seem more real.

You don't just get to tell them how much you've enjoyed and been inspired by their work. You get to watch your favorite shows and movies in a whole new light. You're no longer just staring at a memorable face on a flat screen. You're part of their actual world. You're one degree of separation away from them. And as long as you don't try to obtain a lock of their hair or a skin fragment, you'll retain that beautiful memory for as long as you live or as long as the series doesn't veer down a weird path.

If you've got a particularly long bucket list of famous hands you wish to shake and faces to take selfies with, you'll be able to cross a bunch of them off of your list this weekend at the Dallas Comic Con's Fan Days Expo.

Fanboys and girls all over DFW will have the chance to meet a bunch of famous names and faces from almost every thing they've ever cared about such as Lord of the Rings, Doctor Who, Harry Potter and Star Wars.

The weekend-long convention kicks off Friday at the Irving Convention Center. Some of the famous names scheduled to make an appearance and do a "meet and greet" with the fans including two dynamic duos from the world of fandom: The Lord of the Rings trilogy's Elijah Wood and Sean Astin; James and Oliver Phelps, who played Fred and George Weasley in the Harry Potter movies; and TV's original Batman and Robin Adam West and Burt Ward.

Doctor Who fans will also get a chance to meet Paul McGann, also known as the eighth incarnation of the Doctor, and Alex Kingston, the 11th doctor's companion River Song. Star Wars fans also won't be disappointed at the expo because they'll be able to press the flesh with actor Ray Park, who played Darth Maul in Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace, and Clive Revill, who played the Emperor in The Empire Strikes Back.

Other famous names scheduled to appear include Hercules actor Kevin Sorbo, Indiana Jones' Karen Allen and Ke Huy Quan, Jason David Frank aka the Green Power Ranger, James Hong from Big Trouble in Little China, Blade Runner and Kung Fu Panda and voice actor Peter Robbins who provided the voice for Charlie Brown for A Charlie Brown Christmas and It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.

The weekend convention will also feature a number of panels and Q&A sessions with some of the aforementioned names, a number of cosplay events including contests, a masquerade ball and a red carpet showcase and an exhibitor area where you can fill up on props, collectibles and other items to proudly display on your shelf, bookcase or office cubicle.
