A.H. Belo hopes you think so, because
The Dallas Morning News just posted
the following notice:
Starting Feb. 9, The Dallas Morning News
will increase the newsstand price of its Monday-through-Saturday
newspapers to one dollar from the current level of 75 cents.
The News attributed the price hike to continued increases in the cost of newsprint and other economic factors.
It was but eight months ago that A.H. Belo hiked the newsstand price from 50 cents to 75 cents. Perhaps this is what Jim Moroney meant in his missive to News-ers yesterday when he wrote, "So expect 2009 to be a very difficult year financially." --Robert Wilonsky
