Thirty years ago -- which is to say, a decade before Northern Exposure -- a very young Janine Turner appeared on a handful of episodes of Dallas. Since then, of course, the Fort Worth native who presently lives on 300 acres just outside of Dallas appeared in myriad other teevee shows and movies, including Steel Magnolias, Cliffhanger, Robert Altman's Dr. T and the Women, NBC's Friday Night Lights and, most recently, FOX News, where she's a frequent talking head who enjoys saying nice things about her friend Sarah Palin. And maybe you've seen her in those ads for Restasis eye drops. Or you've read her copious musings on the Constitution.
Anyway. Maybe you've heard: TNT's rebooting Dallas, with Larry Hagman, Patrick Duffy and Linda Gray on board. Seems Turner would like a shot too: I was browsing through Vimeo today and found a freshly posted video audition in which Turner's trying out for a part. Actual dialogue from the actual pilot script? Hmmm.
