Former Dresden Dolls singer Amanda Palmer may be known as a musician, a writer and a public speaker but they all have a common thread that a crowd of beered-up concert goers may not be able to realize. They are all about asking something from someone. As an entertainer and an artist, she’s always asking for a crowd’s attention whether it involves listening to one of her albums, paying attention to her TED talk or reading her book The Art of Asking. She’s even found new ways to ask her fans to help elevate her art and creative expression by launching the most successful music related Kickstarter campaign in the history of the site. Now she’s asking Dallas for one more chance to hear what she has to say and sing when she appears at the the Granada Theater for a live concert and reading of selected sections from her new book. The Granada Theater is located at 3524 Greenville Ave. Tickets are $30 to $49 each depending on available seating. Visit grandatheater.com. Wed. April 15, 8 p.m., 2015.
