Stupid Mother Nature. Right when we had a weekend on our hands that was poised to give us some quality outdoor music time, including Homegrown Music and Arts Festival and Untapped Fort Worth, it looks like the weather gods have decided not to cooperate. Rain is one thing, but with thunderstorms forecast to last throughout the weekend, the folks at Homegrown have made the decision to move things indoors.

The new location, conveniently enough, will be The Bomb Factory -- probably the only venue in the neighborhood (the festival was scheduled to take place in Main St. Garden Park, less than a mile away) that could accommodate crowds as big as Homegrown's. In an announcement made early this afternoon, festival organizers said, "We want everyone to have a safe festival so the move indoors was the only logical step. Come enjoy this all Texas line-up without having to dodge storm clouds."
All of the scheduled bands will be still be playing, and doors will open at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday as planned. The outdoor plans included two separate stages of music, but as Bomb Factory Marketing Manager Gavin Mulloy explains, moving inside shouldn't be an issue.
"There's only one stage, but we don't have to shut down as early," Mulloy says. "Outside we'd have to stop by 10:30, but this way we'll go till 2:00." He adds that the three headlining bands -- Spoon, Old 97's and Shakey Graves -- will all play their full sets, while the rest of the bands will "maybe play five minutes shorter."
Food trucks, meanwhile, will be parked on the patio outside of The Bomb Factory, while other vendors will be located inside the lobby. "We'll try to Homegrown the Bomb Factory up as much as possible," Mulloy says.
No word yet on whether Untapped, which also takes place Saturday over in Fort Worth, will change its plans.
