Beauty? Substance? Fried Dough? Haute Sweets Patisserie Has It All.

Recklessly eyeballing the showcase at Haute Sweets Patisserie, how do you choose just one beauty from the splendid array of desserts? The delicately adorned pastries are all equally stunning. Answers to such questions are elusive, but a simple truth can be distilled from years of life experience: Choose the shiniest option.

Dressed up in edible gold leaf, this is how the white chocolate passionfruit pastry will capture your fancy. Not only is she a looker, but she has substance too. Creamy white chocolate gives way to an airy, tangy passionfruit mousse bursting with flavor.

It comes as no surprise that co-owners Tida Pichakron and chef Gianni Santin are accomplished pastry chefs with numerous accolades between them. After two successful years of event catering at 3015 at Trinity Groves, they took up residence in their new Lake Highlands digs. The new space, with a small seating area, allows walk-in customers to sample from a daily selection of treats.

If fried dough excites you more than edible gold, no worries. One Saturday a month, Haute Sweets graces the community with beignets, which can be paired with Noble Coyote Coffee. September’s beignet-day sold-out, so once October’s date is announced on their Facebook page, you may have to weigh beignets vs. sleeping in.

Until then, stop by the shop and get yourself something shiny. Or if you happen to be at Smoked Dallas BBQ and Music Festival this Saturday, you’re in luck — they’re closing the shop early to cater dessert to the ‘cue-loving queues.
