Leading up to September's Best of Dallas® 2016 issue, we're sharing (in no particular order) our 100 Favorite Dishes, the Dallas entrées, appetizers and desserts that really stuck with us this year.

Oh, Sprezza. Will we ever stop singing your praises? This newcomer to Oak Lawn, a part of the small but ambitious Maple Avenue Dining District, has been turning heads with its fresh, fun take on Italian fare. Perhaps the best part of this menu is its levity. It's easy to come and go from this Italian eatery without feeling weighed down by a heavy night of carb-loading.

The menu here frequently changes as items go in and out of season, which gives us another reason to visit more often. One of our favorite items from Sprezza's menu back when the eatery opened in May: the squash blossoms. Stuffed with mozzarella, sprinkled with breadcrumbs and swimming in tomato sauce tinged with anchovy, the dish's components were substantial but the ingredients still managed to not overtake the delicate squash blossoms.
