Elliott, who did not return a message seeking an interview, told police that the bruises on Thompson's arms came from a bar fight and that the second alleged assault never took place. Four witnesses, including one who said she was sitting in the passenger seat of the car in which Thompson said she was assaulted, told police that no assault had taken place.
Columbus PD did not arrest Elliott because, a department spokeswoman tells the Observer, of the conflicting stories at the scene and a dispute over whether or not Thompson had ever lived with Elliott. Thompson said she'd lived with Elliott for three months within the last year. Elliott denied ever having lived with Thompson, who listed her occupation on one of the reports as "sex slave." The case has been referred to the Franklin County District Attorney.
In a now deleted Instagram post, Thompson posted pictures of injuries she said Elliott inflicted on her. Deadspin saved a couple of screenshots: The Cowboys selected Elliott out of Ohio State University with the fourth pick in the 2016 draft. He is expected to be the team's starting running back in the upcoming season.
