The official Sundance Square tree lighting ceremony will take place on Saturday, November 18 with the festivities beginning at 5:30 pm and the tree lighting countdown starting at 6:30 pm. Designed with the community in mind, activities the day of the tree lighting will feature Santa Claus (11 am – 9:30 pm), live music from the Inspiration Band, as well as photo opportunities throughout the plaza.
New this year will be the opportunity for visitors to get in a virtual line while waiting to see Santa Claus. Upon arriving in Sundance Square, guests will simply check in at Santa’s Sleigh and then shop, eat, and relax until it’s time to meet Santa Claus.
“We love having families come to Sundance Square and wanted to create an ideal environment for parents to bring their children to see Santa,” said Tracy Gilmour, marketing director at Sundance Square. “Waiting in line isn’t exciting, so we are using technology to help make the holiday experience a little more enjoyable for everyone. Families can do other things in Sundance Square until Santa is ready to greet them.”
Holiday keepsake photos with Santa will be available for only $20 each (cash only) with all the proceeds benefiting a scholarship fund established by the Fort Worth Sister Cities’ Youth Scholarships. Santa will be in Sundance Square beginning November 18 through December 22. Check www.sundancesquare.com for specific times.
