Oak Cliff residents will have to say goodbye to the Pour House Dallas crew a final time later this month.

PhD owner Eric Tschetter announced via social media Thursday that he was closing the neighborhood spot after nearly 15 years in north Oak Cliff.

“It is with much sadness,  gratitude and anticipation for the future, PHD Pour House Dallas will be closing,” Tschetter wrote on Facebook. “We have had a great 14 year run. But the end has come.”

The sports bar has been in the same West Davis Street space since Tschetter relocated from Fort Worth, where he originally opened in 1995, the Advocate reports.

Tragically, the bar’s closure comes just as March Madness season gets underway. In 2024, the Observer wrote that the sports bar was one of the best places in town to catch NCAA Tournament action.

In the Facebook post, Tschetter said he and the staff have decided to stay open until the end of the month “to say thank you.”

“You will be missed, but not forgotten,” he wrote. “Come see us one last time. Come have that last burger or beer. Come celebrate meeting your significant other at one of my Pour House’s over the last 32 years.”
