If there’s a Cubs or Bears jersey in your closet, you can go ahead and skip over this. You’ve already heard of Luscher’s and have likely put on a few pounds since happening upon this Deep Ellum greasefest. (That’s why jerseys are so big and baggy.) But please note you don’t have to be a Chicagoan to enjoy Brian Luscher’s latest creation. Meat, cheese, smoke, more meat: These are all lowest common denominators, and the building blocks for some of our most beloved dishes. Don’t miss the Italian beef, as it’s easily the best in the city. And the hot dogs already won similar accolades when Luscher’s was just a tiny smoke-emitting tent at the White Rock Farmers Market. No, you don’t have to be a native of Chicago to fit in here, you just have to have the appetite — and maybe expandable pants.
