- Remember when we told you about Airline getting some college radio love? Well, now the band's getting more: Airline's album, Farewell Republica, ranks #171 in the most recent CMJ 200 chart and has earned airplay on 50 more college radio stations...

- Will Johnson tells the excellent Captains Dead blog about the special edition of Centro-matic and South San Gabriel's Dual Hawks double-disc, dual release: The $40 package comes with a 30-page photo history of the band as seen through the lenses of three photographers (including The Echo Lab's Matt Pence). And "it’s the kind of release that’s specially designed for our friends and fans that have soldiered on with us over the years," Johnson says. You can get that action through the band's label, Misra Records...

- Punk act The Lash Outs (who I, apparently, am a big fan of) just got the go-ahead from its label, Zodiac Killer Records, to record three new songs for a 7'' due out at some point late this summer or early this fall. And it looks like that might be followed by a European tour...
