Gig Alert: The O's At Good Records; The Riverboat Gamblers at Vickery Park

The Damaged Good$ deal at Fallout isn't the only fairly awesome, free show kickin' around Dallas tonight. In fact, if you pace yourself, you'll be able to catch some of the region's finest for a good six hours straight tonight.

(OK, with some breaks thrown in.)

Start your night off over at Good Records, for The O's' CD release... um... well, they're calling it a "celebration", which I think is just because the band's label, Idol Records, is hooking the event up with a free keg o' brewski. Either way: Cheers! The affair kicks off at 6 p.m. and, at 7 p.m., the bluegrass-ish duo will take to the stage to perform a few tracks from its debut release, We Are The O's.

A little bit later and a couple blocks over, The Riverboat Gamblers will continue Vickery Park's month-long "Thursdays in February" music series. Should be a fairly explosive show, if only because there doesn't appear any logical spot on the ceiling for frontman Mike Wiebe to hang from. Plus, it's a pretty tight performance area--hopefully the tables and chairs will be removed so the band and crowd has some room to amble about. The set is scheduled to kick off at 9:45 p.m.

See you out there.
