In this week's paper, I got to realize a dream of mine, interviewing a member of my personal favorite band, the Pixies. It was a pretty decent interview, too, with drummer David Lovering sharing his thoughts on the band's ongoing reunion--which, at this point, has lasted just as long as the band's initial run--and its uncertain future. Read the whole thing here.
It wasn't just a random interview, of course. There's a peg: The band is coming to the Verizon Theatre in Grand Prairie on Sunday night, playing its seminal Doolittle album (and its b-sides) in entirety for what's sure to be an adoring audience.
We'll be there, no doubt. Maybe you will be, too? Shockingly (granted, I'm biased), there are tickets still available. Go buy some, y'all. Because, even though the folks at the Verizon Theatre are being super nice and giving us a pair of tickets to give away to this show, we've only got one pair to hand out.
You want that one free pair? OK: Be the first person to email me right now with the words "I am un chien andalusia" in the subject line and they're yours. Good luck!
Update: Contest is over. Congrats to our winner!
