Update, 1:15p.m.: Congrats to Seth Bohlman, who snagged tickets to Sunday's show!
In my preview of Afghan Whigs' Sunday show at Granada, I perhaps remembered them a little too starkly. And though they were sort of a stark band, they had some genuine moments where they cleaved open greatness on 1993's Gentlemen and '96's Black Love, namely the latter album's final track, "Faded." Their talent for dark/stark songs has gotten an update with this summer's Frank Ocean cover.
We're doing a giveaway for two tickets to Sunday's show, with openers Centro-matic. But wait, there's more! Act now and you'll get:
A t-shirt! A bootleg download of one of the shows! Two tickets to another Granada show on another day!
All this could be yours. Hit me here and tell me your favorite Afghan Whigs song. We'll announce a winner tomorrow.
