No, the country legend doesn’t tour with pyrotechnics, but he does play his half guitar, half pedal steel like he’s a Vegas dealer shuffling cards, and he winds his instrument out of and back into tune as nimbly as anybody else would hit a C chord. Sure, his country songs are great, but it’s when he does things like re-create famous movie sound effects, including the tones from Encounters of the Third Kind, that the awe really sets in.
