Support the independent voice of Dallas and help keep the future of Dallas Observer free.
Last week,
we briefly mentioned the a collaborative project from Bowling for Soup's Jaret Reddick and Smile Smile's Ryan Hamilton, a venture called
People on Vacation. And, this week, the twosome appears closer to revealing the full fruits of their labor.
On the duo's just-launched web site this morning, the band is currently offering up a steam of a song called "Better Off Dead," the first taste of the former tourmates' work together. The sound makes perfect sense, too, combining Smile Smile's whimsical pop with Bowling For Soup's knack for catchy hook-writing. It's fairly promising stuff, too--enough to pique our curiosity as their project moves forward, even it's little bit of a predictable combination from the two local songwriters.
