Support the independent voice of Dallas and help keep the future of Dallas Observer free.
Make sure you grab your hard copy of the Observer tomorrow, folks. It's kind of a big issue.
Inside it, you'll find our 2008 Dallas Observer Music Awards ballot. That's right: We're fast-approaching our 20th annual DOMAs.
So grab your copy and send in your votes. Or follow the instructions and vote online (polls will open tomorrow Thursday).
Oh, and in case you're curious, in my column space tomorrow, I'll give you a little background on how we came up with this year's nominees. Plus, on this here blog over the next couple of weeks, we'll break down and handicap the nominees in every category we've got (which includes some new ones), one per day.
It's gonna be one hell of a month, everybody. Buckle up. --Pete Freedman
Keep the Dallas Observer Free... Since we started the Dallas Observer, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Dallas, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Dallas with no paywalls.
