We mentioned a couple weeks ago that Memphis punks Lucero will be performing at the Dallas Observer Music Awards ceremony on Tuesday, November 13. Local comedian Paul Varghese, who opened for Dave Chappelle a few months ago, will emcee the night, and hopefully pack some good "zingers" about the Dallas music scene.
Also on the bill that night: Dallas braintrust the Cannabinoids, backing band for Erykah Badu, who have been busy recording their debut album. Fingers crossed we get to hear some new tracks. The O's and Luna Matto will also perform. Stay tuned for more announcements on that front.
Oh, guess what? We've got some tickets to giveaway to Saturday's 60+ band showcase in Deep Ellum, featuring A.Dd+, Daniel Hart, Tum Tum, Hunter Hendrickson, Zhora, Michael Donner & the Southern Renaissance and more. Want them? Leave a comment below, along with a legit email address, and they could be yours. Seriously. It's like you're in one of those money tubes on a game show.
