Picnic Offers Up Free Kixpo 2008 Mixtape Download

Looks like Picnic's gonna be just fine in this post-PPT world.

He's sure as hell staying busy enough: He came in third place at the Red Bull Big Tune Beat Battle in Houston; he and the rest of The Cannabinoids are working on something super top-secret and, if I may say so, incredibly cool for our DOMA Awards Ceremony (more on this later); he's collaborating with Astronautalis on a new project called Max Moon; and, sure, just for kicks (pun definitely intended), he put together a pretty rockin' mixtape for the upcoming sneaker and streetwear event, Kixpo 2008 .

And that mixtape? It features all sorts of local Dallas hip-hop artists (see after the jump for the full list). Plus, it's a free download. Get it here. --Pete Freedman

Support the independent voice of Dallas and help keep the future of Dallas Observer free.

Keep the Dallas Observer Free... Since we started the Dallas Observer, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Dallas, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Dallas with no paywalls.
