Picture Show: The DOMAXXI Photo Shoot Through One Photographer's Lens...

On Tuesday, July 7, we invited all of this year's Dallas Observer Music Awards nominees to a photo shoot/house party that turned out to be a heckuva time, thanks in no small part to the performances The O's, Damaged Good$ and RTB2 gave their fellow nominees at the event.

We had our own photographer, Allison V. Smith, on hand to document the festivities--and you'll see the fruits of her labor in next week's DOMA cover story on all of this year's winners (which are still yet to be determined...voting ends Saturday night). But, a few other photographers were on hand as well, and, in turn, some of then graciously offered us the opportunity to run their photographs from the event.

So, on that note, check out this slideshow Wheeler Sparks took at our raging kegger. I think I smell a new tradition... or maybe it's just my beer-soaked jeans.

Support the independent voice of Dallas and help keep the future of Dallas Observer free.

Keep the Dallas Observer Free... Since we started the Dallas Observer, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Dallas, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Dallas with no paywalls.
