Per the request of a couple commenters who missed out on my last monthly get-together at The Libertine because I wasn't shameless enough to post about it here, a quick reminder: Tonight, from 10 p.m. until closing time, I'll be running the PA at The Libertine for my first-Monday-of-every-month residency there called The Local Hang.
The concept, of course, is pretty simple: For four straight hours, I'll play nothing but local music in an attempt to prove to you that, OK, maybe there's actually some good music being made around here these days. Among the songs you'll hear tonight: New Midlake, Damaged Good$, Jonathan Tyler & The Northern Lights, Smile Smile and Sir Silky--plus many, many other tracks from personal area favorites, including, yep, even an exclusive Sarah Jaffe track we've been given the go-ahead to debut at tonight's shin-dig.
Anyway, for more info on tonight's even, click on over here. And, please, do stop on by. It's free to attend, which is nice. Plus, it gives you a pretty great chance to come up to me and tell me what horrible taste I have in music. And, given my responsibilities for the night, I WON'T BE ABLE TO LEAVE.
