Local indie pop duo Smile Smile, whose long lost love is the thing legend 'round these parts, is offering a free download of its cover of the Foo Fighters' "Walking After You" on its web site in anticipation of its free show on Friday night at the Barley House. Check it out--it's actually pretty good, as "Walking After You" is one of the Foo's more toned-down numbers and that means it's sorta up Smile Smile's alley.

But don't expect Friday night's show to be very lovey-dovey. The show, which will find Smile Smile performing alongside the excellent Calhoun and Austin's Sour Notes, is being billed as an Anti-Valentine's Day Party. And it's on Friday the 13th, which I can't imagine is too good a night to start getting lucky in love.

Well, unless, you're Mike Modano's wife Willa Ford, who Hunter Hauk is reporting gets super topless during the new remake of Friday the 13th. Awesome.
