Support the independent voice of Dallas and help keep the future of Dallas Observer free.
Mom's debut EP, Little Brite, made quite an impression on us last year, earning a rave review and a Best of the Year recommendation.
Thanks to a Japanese release and a forthcoming European tour, music fans all over the world are about to hear what got us so excited last year.
The Japanese version of Little Brite, released August 8 on Moamoo, includes two extra tracks and a band-made video for "Sleep Whale," as well as different packaging. Those not planning a trip to Tokyo anytime soon can order it here for ¥2,000, plus ¥450 shipping and handling. That's about $22 in (weak) U.S. dollars.
But Mom won't settle for being big in Japan. After a couple weeks of touring the East Coast and Midwest with Voices and Organs, Mom will spend most of October in Europe, alongside fellow Texans This Will Destroy You. Stops include Paris, Brussels, Glasgow and London.--Jesse Hughey
Keep the Dallas Observer Free... Since we started the Dallas Observer, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Dallas, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Dallas with no paywalls.
